History of The Tournament

In 1933 a group of food products suppliers and grocery retailers convened to assemble a golf tournament that would allow retailer staff and food vendors the chance to network and enjoy a great day of golf. This idea grew to include any supplier that handled food and related products to food. Thus, the Food and Allied Industries title.

The tournament grew to become a huge tradition in Ontario. It became so successful that the committee was able to designate excess funds to The Grocery Foundation. The tournament now draws 350 to 450 golfers per year and has donated over $200,000 to children's charities in Ontario.

2025 marks the 89th year of this tradition - a tradition that continues to allow for camaraderie and fun in this great industry.
